About

A directory of travel YouTubers, organized by where they actually go.

Trip Channels indexes 484 travel YouTube creators across 40 destinations and 15 travel styles, so you can find creators worth subscribing to before your next trip — not generic content farms.

How we discover channels

We run roughly 180 search queries per week against the YouTube Data API — generic travel terms, country-specific phrases, and travel-style queries (budget, luxury, food, solo, family, etc.). Channels surfaced from those searches are scored, deduplicated, and stored in a public database.

How we filter

Travel keywords get plenty of false positives — kids channels, news networks, and sports coverage often share vocabulary with travel content. We apply a two-stage relevance gate:

  1. Travel-term match. The channel name, description, or recent video titles must contain at least one travel-related term (travel, trip, destination, nomad, etc.).
  2. Exclusion gate. We reject channels that match patterns common to non-travel false positives (children's content, news networks, gaming, cricket coverage, etc.).

Channels also have to clear a baseline: 1,000+ subscribers, 5+ videos, and at least one long-form video (we don't index Shorts-only channels in v1).

How we rank

Each channel gets a CreatorScore composed of:

How channels are tagged

Each channel can be tagged with one or more destinations (countries it covers) and one or more travel styles (budget, luxury, food, etc.). Tags come from automated pattern-matching against channel content, so a channel that covers Japan and food earns both the Japan and the Food + Travel tag.

How fresh is this data?

Discovery runs twice a week (Tuesday and Friday) and re-scores all existing channels each run. Last verified: May 1, 2026.
